Beginning in 2022, with funding from The Steward Family Foundation and support from the Longmont Public Library, St. Vrain Valley School District and several private preschools, Unite for Literacy has delivered 100 books to each of nearly 1,000 children in the highest need areas of the city. Families whose children received books say they’ve increased time spent reading with their children to every day or almost every day. This is evidence that a book garden is taking root in Longmont.
